Home Decor Forecast

Picture your house in the 1980s.  Chances are you can conjure up memories of mauve, slate blue, peach, and sea foam green, perhaps incorporated into a country or Victorian theme.  Ducks, geese, and roses anyone?  And, don't forget that southwestern theme!  Over the years of my business I have seen themes come and go.  Here are the trends I see for 2008. . .

Home Decor often follows fashion.  Right now black, gray, and white are "hip".  This can be a very sophisticated look.  However, in mid-Michigan I find people seeking simplicity and relaxation.  Simple color palette combinations and more natural colors reflecting our environment appeal to most.  Soft blues and sands with neutral tones of cream.

Burnt orange and terra cottas are still strong with touches of metallic and lots of texture.

If your home still has any cows or geese residing, please put them out to pasture.
